Day 2 – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your professional safari guide will collect you from your lodge and begin the scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately two and a half hours away along well-maintained roads.
The park takes its name from the Tarangire River—often called the “River of Warthogs”—which serves as the primary water source for wildlife during the dry season. Tarangire is especially famous for its large elephant herds, frequently seen gathering along the riverbanks. You may also encounter giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest, often followed by predators such as lions and leopards.
The park is a paradise for bird enthusiasts, hosting more breeding bird species than almost anywhere else in the world. Towering ancient baobab trees dominate the landscape, some believed to be over a thousand years old.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive. Later, you will travel to Karatu for your overnight stay.

Day 3 – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will ascend into the cooler highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.
At first sight, the crater resembles a hidden world. Enclosed by steep volcanic walls lies a pristine wilderness of sweeping savannah, acacia woodland, shimmering lakes, and marshlands. Formed two to three million years ago when a giant volcano collapsed in on itself, this 260 km² natural amphitheater is home to one of the densest concentrations of large mammals in Africa.
As you explore the crater floor, you may encounter large herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The crater also offers one of the best opportunities in Tanzania to see the endangered black rhino.
A picnic lunch will be enjoyed on the crater floor before returning to Karatu in the late afternoon.

Luxury: Kitela Lodge

Day 4 – Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
After breakfast, you will travel to Lake Manyara National Park, located approximately 120 km west of Arusha. Though compact—one of the narrowest parks in Africa—Lake Manyara offers remarkable ecological diversity.
Set beneath the dramatic Great Rift Escarpment, the park’s landscapes range from lush evergreen forest to open floodplains and its shallow alkaline lake. The lake expands and contracts with the seasons and attracts thousands of wading birds, including flamingos, along with more than 500 recorded bird species.
You may encounter large troops of baboons, elephants moving through the forest, and, if fortunate, the park’s famous tree-climbing lions.
After a picnic lunch and final game drive, you will bid farewell to your guide and be transferred to your chosen drop-off location—Arusha, Kilimanjaro International Airport, or Arusha Airport.
We hope you depart with unforgettable memories of your safari with Bush Windows Tours.
